Important Message from the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources - Monday, August 27, 2012
Monday, August 27, 2012
TBS just received the following message from Louisiana Department of Natural Resources Office of Coastal Management:
Effective immediately, the Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources is authorizing those activities necessary to prevent and mitigate damages to the extent possible associated with Tropical Storm Isaac. In the event that new construction is needed, an after-the-fact permit application might be required. This notice shall expire on September 30, 2012 at 4:30 pm, unless it is renewed.
The Department reminds all emergency users to avoid and minimize impacts resulting from the activities authorized by this notice to coastal resources where possible, since compensatory mitigation for theses impacts will most likely be required.
In the event that emergency repairs are needed, emergency users are authorized to commence the necessary work at the earliest opportunity. Emergency users are to provide the Department with notification via letter, email or fax as soon as possible for documentation purposes. The notification should include: • the name of the entity undertaking the activity, • a description of the work performed, • a vicinity map showing the location of the emergency work, • and project coordinates (lat/long) if available.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact your TBS project manager or you can contact Kenny King at (985) 868-1050 or at email@example.com.
