Jimmy Ledet, vice president of engineering at T. Baker Smith and a member of the ACEC/L Board of Governors, has been elected as an ACEC Fellow, the national organization announced on Nov. 12.
Ledet was elected by the ACEC Committee of Fellows on Oct. 28. He will be presented with his Fellows Medallion and Certificate at the 2014 Fall Conference Awards Luncheon in Hawaii.
Engineers are elected as Fellows based on their
"notable contributions to the objectives of ACEC" in several areas, including administrative leadership, design, science, literature, education, service to the profession and outstanding civic leadership. Ledet is the 10th person in Louisiana to be named as a Fellow.
Ledet has been with T. Baker Smith since 1978, holding numerous positions including Engineer in Training, Project Manager and Principal in Charge of Engineering at the Thibodaux office. He is a professional engineer licensed in eight states - Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Georgia. Ledet also has won numerous awards for his expertise and leadership, including the Louisiana Engineering Society's Technological Accomplishment award in 1995 and the ACEC/L's A.E. Wilder Leadership Award in 2009.
