TBS Bridge Inspections Reach New Heights - Tuesday, April 5, 2016
Our bridge inspection services
are reaching new heights at TBS with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV)
in conjunction with our traditional solutions to offer safe and responsive data
gathering for bridge inspection projects.
TBS' bridge inspectors use the
UAV to safely view portions of the structure that are not easily accessible and
would otherwise require rappelling/rigging, extensive traffic control, or other
measures to view bridge components not easily viewed from the ground. Our
FAA-certified pilot controls the UAV's position while our certified bridge
inspectors control the UAV's camera independently on a separate remote. This
camera has still imagery and video capabilities, which offers a continuous,
permanent record of the visual inspection along with the traditional inspection
reporting. The imagery and video aid our
bridge inspectors in Load & Resistance Factor Rating (LRFR) of existing
structures for National Bridge Inventory (NBI) reporting.
Our professional team of
certified bridge inspectors and unmanned aerial systems operators are eager to
initiate this advanced solution for your bridge inspection projects.
