The Challenge

A local levee district struggled with limited resources while managing over 250 miles of levees, 40 pump stations, and 28 forced drainage systems serving 65,000 residents. Manual pump operation led to equipment damage, erosion, high maintenance costs, and exacerbated subsidence, threatening levee stability. Initially, the client sought to install cameras to monitor water levels.

The Solution

TBS proposed a comprehensive Iot-based monitoring system instead. We selected reliable off-the-shelf hardware to create self-powered units that transmit data securely to a cloud server. Integrated with the district's GIS platform, this system provides real-time monitoring of water levels and pump status. This solution offers a scalable, cost-effective approach to managing drainage and flood protection, enhancing community safety and system sustainability.
