Position Location: Houma, LA
T. Baker Smith, LLC is seeking and Environmental Professional to join our environmental team in Houma, LA who is passionate about being part of a team working within Oil & Gas, Pipeline, Industrial, Land Development, and public works markets.
As an Environmental Professional with TBS you will:
Primarily responsible for providing advanced technical support in field operations, data collection, and preparation of technical documents is support of regulatory and environmental projects.
Primary field duties include collection of field data to support projects in both marine and terrestrial environments and include but not limited to:
- Phase I/II site inspections
- LPDES Stormwater inspections
- Wetland Delineations
- Oyster Assessments
- Environmental Assessments
- Environmental Monitoring Events
- Threatened & Endangered Species Surveys
Office duties will include preparation of technical documents to support the findings of field surveys that could include Phase I/II reports, LPDES Stormwater plans, preparation/submittal of Joint Permit Applications (DNR/Corps) including Corps 408/levee districts permit applications, preparation of various other technical environmental reports, and direct coordination with client and agencies. These projects may be involved with the oil and gas industry, pipeline industry, industrial and petrochemical facilities, and land development projects.
What you will need to have:
Candidates need to possess a Bachelor’s of Science Degree or Master of Science Degree in biology, forestry, wildlife, fisheries, botany, environmental sciences or similar field and/or have 5 plus years of relevant technical experience.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in any of the previously mentioned fields is preferred.
Must be able to prepare, read, analyze, interpret, and respond to technical documents.
Excellent writing and communication skills necessary. Ability to relate to clients and associates at all levels of the organization.
Ability to operate computer, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe required.
