The Challenge
Integrating a pump station SCADA system into a GIS platform for a local municipality involved significant challenges, including ensuring data compatibility, real-time synchronization, and metadata consistency. The process required overcoming technical hurdles related to data alignment, update frequency, and secure data management while providing user-friendly access across platforms.
The Solution
We used FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) to seamlessly integrate SCADA data into ArcGIS Online, enabling real-time synchronization and secure data flow. FME automated data transformations, ensuring metadata integrity and compatibility between SCADA and GIS formats. This integration not only addressed the technical challenges but also resulted in a scalable and adaptable solution that enhances data accuracy, security, and usability. By improving the functionality of the system, we provided the client with efficient, user-friendly access to integrated data across multiple platforms, boosting their operational capabilities and decision-making processes.
