The Challenge

To Be Met

Port Arthur LNG (PALNG) plans to construct a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal along the western side of the Port Arthur Canal near Port Arthur, Texas. PALNG proposes to dredge the berthing area for the facility and use the dredged material beneficially for the restoration of nearby subsided coastal marsh.

The Solution

Our Creative Approach

TBS is providing engineering design services for the beneficial use of dredged material, including tidal datum analysis, marsh inundation analysis, healthy marsh elevation analysis, and sea level rise analysis. TBS’ integrated teams are leveraging skills for fill area cell design, earthen containment dike design, and construction fill area design. This project is estimated to dredge approximately 5.2 million cubic yards of material for the restoration of approximately 1,300 acres of wetlands.

TBS has been a partner with PALNG on many aspects of this proposed project from pre-project planning, to pre-design surveys and geotechnical analysis coordination, to permitting and regulatory support for PALNG and their operations.
