Chemical Plant Laser Scan Survey and ISO Creation

The Challenge
Tasked with supporting multiple project turnarounds within a single plant site, the challenge we faced included laser scanning along with providing isometric spool drawings for new and existing piping amidst the urgency of the project timeline. TBS’ responsibilities included surveying via dimensional control and laser scanning while keeping adherence to stringent quality standards.
The Solution
Leveraging our Industrial Measurement group and Facility Engineering group at T. Baker Smith, we worked hand in hand to create the required deliverables within the allotted time. This collaboration included weekly meetings between the TBS groups and our client to determine priority, upcoming work, and any changes to ongoing work scope. By utilizing our in-house groups, the typical delays with data transfer, software compatibility and communication between the multiple disciplines was virtually non-existent, allowing us to provide the client with accurate isometric drawings in an expedited manner.
