Engineer Intern

T. Baker Smith is seeking to add a full-time, motivated Engineer Intern (E.I.) support our growing teams throughout Louisiana and Texas!
Your Opportunity:
- Assist in the development, design, and management of projects.
- Develop feasible design alternatives and compare significant parameters.
- Identify and analyze the principal design features and major design alternatives.
- Assist in the development of detailed plans, specifications, reports, schedules, and cost estimates with project team.
- Produce and revise drawings, sketches, and plans in accordance with project standards.
- Review and analyze field notes, data, and calculations.
- Research specifications and materials.
- Organize and maintain project files.
- Maintain neat and organized work area.
- Maintain current knowledge of equipment, techniques, procedures, and regulations.
- Participate in professional development and training.
- Perform site visits for data collection.
Preferred Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Completion of Fundamentals Engineering Exam within 12months of employment.
- Ability to relate to clients and people at all levels of the organization and must possess excellent communication and diplomacy skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings and the most complex documents.
- Ability to operate computer, using technical software, which includes computer, aided drafting and other applications, spreadsheets, and other business software.
- AutoCAD, Microstation, Inventor, or Solidworks experience is a plus.
